Do we need building permits?

At Dwell, we always recommend you make a quick phone call to your local building department, to see what is required.

Are you insured?

Yes. Dwell Construction Inc. carries adequate Commercial General Liability Insurance, to protect you, our customer in the event we cause damage to you or your home. We strongly recommend prior to beginning any project that is structural in nature that you consult your own insurance provider, to ensure your policy will cover you while work is being completed on your home.

What are your qualifications?

Matt completed his Carpentry education with Fanshawe College in 2002, + received his Ontario College Certificate. WHMIS Training, Fall Arrest Training + Mold Remediation are some of his other qualifications.

Is there anything we need to do to prepare for a consult?

Yes, there are a few steps to take as clients to prepare for a consult. We have taken the time to write up a checklist to ensure that we get the most out of our time together.

How do we book a consultation or a job?

On the top tab you will see a “Contact Us” form, from here you can email us directly to book a consult. Emails are checked daily + we will reach out to you within 24 hrs of receiving your inquiry.

What kind of jobs do you not do?

We like to leave roofing, electrical, excavation, HVAC, custom cabinetry, architectural + engineered drawings to the professionals. We are able to help you find a subcontractor for these details.

Do you do new home construction?

We have in the past, but usually like to focus on renovations, we welcome a conversation though, should you want us to build for you.

What kind of projects do you love to do?

We love working with clients who allow us to really shine with our design ideas. We love to challenge our clients to think outside of the proverbial box, + create spaces that are unique + welcoming.

Who is your ideal client?

One who listens to our ideas objectively, who allows us to do our work without distraction + conflict throughout the process. We love a creative + a prepared client.

How long does a consult typically last?

We book consults generally on Tuesday evenings in 1 hour increments from 7-8. if you have completed your site visit checklist prior to our arrival, the consult will run smoothly + efficiently.
